Review : New Moon
Ah yes. The mayhem of the Twilight Saga is back, with the recent release of the second movie, New Moon.
I would go on about the story, but, c'mon. 99% of us Form 5's have read the darn book, heck, even the entire series. Why should I waste my time going over the plot when we already know what's happened?
Instead, I'll be reviewing the performance of the main actors/actresses, a.k.a. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. And maybe throw in some plot points as well, mehh.
I absolutely despise the characterisation of Edward in the movie, because, well, he doesn't really DO anything. Yeah, it's Jacob's time to shine, but seriously? Edward's role in this movie =WRONGWRONGWRONG. Just... NO.
I don't really have anything against the actor himself, but they should've got another actor to play Edward. But as Ally said, "Who else can you imagine as Edward?"
But still. I do not like Bella in this. The whole movie, for her, is basically in this sequence:
So yeah. Bella in New Moon = kinda annoying.
His gaze could practically melt you.
The special effects were mind-numbingly real. I could feel the vibrations in my seat when the wolves were chasing after Victoria through the forest.
Not to mention, the selection of tracks for the soundtrack. Anya Marina's 'Satellite Heart' is poignant, and her voice just matches the entire theme of the movie. Lykke Li's 'Possibility' is hauntingly beautiful, which matches the 'blank months' of Bella perfectly.
So, basically, watch the movie if you're a girl, or is interested in directing, or just want to check out the amazing soundtrack.
PS. The movie has also led to my new celebrity obsession : Taylor Lautner. Beware, you were warned.
