Review : New Moon

Ah yes. The mayhem of the Twilight Saga is back, with the recent release of the second movie, New Moon.

I would go on about the story, but, c'mon. 99% of us Form 5's have read the darn book, heck, even the entire series. Why should I waste my time going over the plot when we already know what's happened?

Instead, I'll be reviewing the performance of the main actors/actresses, a.k.a. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. And maybe throw in some plot points as well, mehh.

Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen

Frankly, I've never been able to completely connect RPatz as Edward. I mean, Edward's supposed to be like, perfect. And Rob is... well I just don't like his teeth. And hair. (Wash it sometime, yeah?) But anyways.

I absolutely despise the characterisation of Edward in the movie, because, well, he doesn't really DO anything. Yeah, it's Jacob's time to shine, but seriously? Edward's role in this movie =WRONGWRONGWRONG. Just... NO.

I don't really have anything against the actor himself, but they should've got another actor to play Edward. But as Ally said, "Who else can you imagine as Edward?"

Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan

First off, I think Kristen's kinda cute. In her own 'aw-shucks-shy-girl' personality. And I think she can act. I'm not sure, I've not watched her other movies, but she has gotten rave reviews, so...

But still. I do not like Bella in this. The whole movie, for her, is basically in this sequence:

Happy, crushed, sad, sad, depressed, adrenaline rush, stupid actions, fright, confusion, angst...

You get the idea. And she doesn't really DO anything, except maybe hang out with Jacob, laughs abit, nearly kisses him TWICE...

So yeah. Bella in New Moon = kinda annoying.

Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black

One thing's for sure : Taylor can ACT. As in real honest acting. Sure he's hot, but I noticed that he really embodies himself in his character. The way he asks Bella to "go away", you could practically see that he was spitting out the words, albeit reluctantly. He is awesome as Jacob, 'nuff said. And did I mention those chocolate abs? 8D

Wouldn't I love to be Bella in this... ^
His gaze could practically melt you.

So besides the acting, the cinematography was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I LOVED how the director managed to convey how Bella was when she was depressed, during those blank October, November and December months by slowly panning the camera around her. Wicked.

The special effects were mind-numbingly real. I could feel the vibrations in my seat when the wolves were chasing after Victoria through the forest.

Not to mention, the selection of tracks for the soundtrack. Anya Marina's 'Satellite Heart' is poignant, and her voice just matches the entire theme of the movie. Lykke Li's 'Possibility' is hauntingly beautiful, which matches the 'blank months' of Bella perfectly.

So, basically, watch the movie if you're a girl, or is interested in directing, or just want to check out the amazing soundtrack.

PS. The movie has also led to my new celebrity obsession : Taylor Lautner. Beware, you were warned.

HOTHOTHOT 8DDD

My Uncle Is So Awesome He Deserves This Blog Post.

So, in reference to the title above, my uncle recently went to Korea. KOREA. For a holiday. Unfortunately for me, I had SPM. :(

However, the good thing is I got to 'tumpang shopping' on him. Muahahaha.

The most awesome thing is, all the things I asked for, he managed to buy for me!

*Sniffs* He's officially my number one uncle now. XD

Anywho, I decided to post this here because,

A. I'm a dork about Korean stuff.
B. I'm a fangirl.

'Nuff said.

Two 2PM albums, and GD's Heartbreaker album. I'm impressed.

Tablo's book, CeCi mag, ELLE Korea, and Junior magazine.

Check out the thickness of themagazines. I swear, 1 can actually be 1kg or more. They're that heavy. @.@

Oh, and turns out all the English versions of Tablo's book "Pieces of You" are sold out in Korea, so they only have the Korean editions left. Another good excuse to learn Korean! (As if the obsessions with its culture wasn't enough XD)

But this was kinda sad... And ruins the illusion that Korea is really that perfect.

An ad for plastic surgery. WTF.

Oh, oh and something extra. :D

He brought back 20 packets of Shin Ramyun for us too. Madness I tell you.

New Moon review coming up next! :D

How Can You Understand Me If I Don't Myself?

I'm tired of this.

Of hoping for miracles that will never happen.

Of fantasising about 'what-ifs' that will never come true.

Of dreaming about when the day someone will come.

Of waiting hopelessly.

I was crazy about you.

Too bad the things I knew weren't true.
